    1. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with this EULA, Julie AI Ltd grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal purposes in accordance with the terms herein.

    2. Health and Medical Disclaimer

    2.1 No Medical Advice

THE SERVICE IS NOT INTENDED TO PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE, DIAGNOSIS, OR TREATMENT. THE SERVICE IS AN AI-POWERED PARENTING GUIDANCE TOOL THAT PROVIDES GENERAL INFORMATION AND EVIDENCE-BASED GUIDANCE. IT IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL ADVICE, DIAGNOSIS, OR TREATMENT.

Any health-related information provided by the Service is for informational and educational purposes only. You should not rely on the Service for medical advice or as a substitute for consultation with qualified healthcare professionals.

2.2 Always Seek Professional Medical Advice

    You acknowledge and agree that:

    • You will ALWAYS seek the advice of your GP, health visitor, midwife, or other qualified healthcare provider with any questions regarding a medical condition affecting you or your child
    • You will NEVER disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of information from the Service
    • You will NEVER use the Service for medical emergencies
    • The Service is not a licensed medical provider and cannot diagnose, treat, or cure any disease or condition
    • AI-generated responses may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information

    2.3 Medical Emergencies

IF YOU THINK YOU OR YOUR CHILD MAY HAVE A MEDICAL EMERGENCY, CALL YOUR DOCTOR, GO TO THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT, OR CALL 999 IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT USE THE SERVICE FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SITUATIONS.

    2.4 No Doctor-Patient Relationship

Use of the Service does not create a doctor-patient relationship between you and Julie AI Ltd or any healthcare provider. The Service is not regulated as a medical device and is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions, or in the cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease.

    2.5 Accuracy Disclaimer

The Service uses artificial intelligence technology that may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information. Medical and child development information changes rapidly, and the Service may not reflect the most current research or guidelines. We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any health information provided.

    2.6 Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to use the Service for:

    • Self-diagnosis or diagnosis of your child or others
    • Treatment decisions without consulting a healthcare professional
    • Medication management or dosage decisions
    • Emergency medical situations
    • Mental health crises or suicide prevention
    • Any situation where professional medical judgment is required

2.7 Sources and Citations for Health Information

Where the Service provides health, sleep, feeding or developmental information, Julie is designed to surface citations to the underlying authoritative source alongside that information. Source material is drawn from the National Health Service (NHS), the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), and other UK and international clinical bodies. Citation links are shown directly in chat and are accessible by tapping the source name or the "Sources" control attached to each AI response.

You are encouraged to follow the linked source for any health-related response you intend to act on. Citations are not exhaustive and do not constitute medical advice or a recommendation to follow the source material in your specific circumstances; please refer to Sections 2.1 to 2.6 above and consult a qualified healthcare professional.

    3. Who Can Use the Service

The Service is designed for use by parents and guardians aged 18 or over who are caring for children aged 0 to 3 years.

The Service is intended to help parents access evidence-based parenting guidance about their own child. This includes guidance on sleep, feeding, development, and general wellbeing. The parent or guardian is the user of the Service and is responsible for how they apply any guidance provided.

The Service is not designed to be used directly by children. If you allow a minor to access your device, you are responsible for supervising their interaction with the Service.

By using the Service, you confirm that you have parental responsibility for the child whose data you enter into the Service, and that you consent to the processing of your child's data as described in our Privacy Policy.

    4. Data Processing and Your Child's Information

To deliver personalised guidance, the Service processes personal data about your child, including health-related data (such as sleep patterns, feeding information, and developmental milestones). This is special category data under UK GDPR.

By using the Service, you provide explicit consent for us to process this data for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy. You can withdraw this consent at any time by contacting contact@julieai.co.uk or deleting your account. Full details of how we handle your child's data, including retention periods and your rights, are set out in our Privacy Policy.

4.1 Third-Party AI Service Provider and Your Permission

YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT, IN ORDER TO GENERATE THE PERSONALISED GUIDANCE YOU RECEIVE IN CHAT, THE SERVICE TRANSMITS YOUR MESSAGES, A SUMMARY OF YOUR CHILD'S PROFILE, AND RECENT CONVERSATION HISTORY TO A THIRD-PARTY ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (LARGE LANGUAGE MODEL) PROVIDER. THE IDENTITY OF THIS PROVIDER, THE DATA TRANSMITTED, THE LIMITS WE PLACE ON THEIR USE OF YOUR DATA, AND THE PROTECTIONS THEY HAVE AGREED TO ARE SET OUT IN FULL IN SECTION 4.1 OF OUR PRIVACY POLICY.

Before any such data is sent, the Service will present an in-app consent screen the first time you attempt to use any AI-generated feature. This screen will (i) name the AI service provider, (ii) summarise the categories of data that will be sent, (iii) confirm that data will not be used to train the provider's models, and (iv) require you to actively choose to "Allow" or "Don't Allow." AI-powered features will not function until you have given this permission, and your acceptance of this EULA does not by itself constitute permission for the purposes of Apple's App Store Review Guideline 5.1.2(i) or UK GDPR Article 9 special category data processing.

You may withdraw this permission at any time from Settings → Privacy → AI Processing within the app. Doing so will disable AI-powered features but will not affect your access to other functions of the Service.

    5. License Restrictions

    You agree NOT to:

    • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
    • Remove or modify any proprietary notices or labels
    • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorised purpose
    • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or related systems
    • Use the Service to develop competing products or services

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE FROM VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE SERVICE, INCLUDING HEALTH-RELATED INFORMATION.

    8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, JULIE AI LTD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR PERSONAL INJURY, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR ANY OTHER COMMERCIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

IN PARTICULAR, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY HARM, INJURY, ILLNESS, OR DEATH RESULTING FROM RELIANCE ON HEALTH INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE SERVICE OR FROM FAILURE TO SEEK PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL ADVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR £100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

    9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Julie AI Ltd, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of this EULA, or your violation of any rights of another party.

    10. Termination

This EULA is effective until terminated. We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach this EULA. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease and your data will be handled in accordance with the retention periods set out in our Privacy Policy.

    11. Updates and Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We may also update this EULA from time to time. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the modified EULA.

    12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This EULA shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

    13. Entire Agreement

This EULA, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Terms and Conditions, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Julie AI Ltd regarding the Service.

    14. Severability

If any provision of this EULA is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that this EULA will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
